People are being advised not to consume two types of a processed fish product sold in Ontario and Quebec because it may be contaminated with a bacteria called Clostridium botulinum.

The warning from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and applies to the products Gefilte Fish, Ready-to-Serve, Sweet, as well as Gefilte Fish, Ready-to-Serve, Savoury, sold by Central-Epicure Food Products Ltd.
The Toronto-based company is voluntarily recalling the product.
Toxins produced by Clostridium botulinum may cause botulism, a life-threatening illness.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.
Food contaminated with Clostridium botulinum toxin may not look or smell spoiled. However, eating food contaminated with the toxin may cause nausea, vomiting, fatigue, dizziness, headache, double vision, dry throat, respiratory failure and paralysis.
