The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has expanded a recall for Reser's Cheesy Macaroni Salad out of concerns the product may be contaminated with Listeria.
The 1.25-kilogram containers of Reser's brand Cheesy Macaroni Salad dated Nov. 2, 2013, with UPC number 0 71117 61227 1, are at the centre of the recall.
They're sold at Wal-Mart stores in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Ontario and Quebec.
The previous recall included the 454-gram and 1.25-kilogram containers of Reser's brand Cheesy Macaroni Salad dated Oct. 20, 2013, with UPC codes 0 71117 18241 5 and 0 71117 61227 1, respectively.
The CFIA said no illnesses have been reported.
Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled.
Symptoms of listeriosis include high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are considered to be at higher risk.
