Cheese sold in Western Canada recalled over Listeria fear

Written By Unknown on Sabtu, 15 Maret 2014 | 22.45

Castle Cheese Inc. is recalling Okanagan's Choice Cheese brand shredded cheese products because of possible Listeria contamination.

The cheese is sold in Alberta, British Columbia and Manitoba.

Four products are involved Nacho Blend Cheddar Mozzarella Shredded Cheese, Shredded Cheddar, Shredded Mozzarella and Shredded Parmesan.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says all carry a best-before date of Jan. 13, 2015 (15JA13).

The agency says there are no reported illnesses linked to eating the affected cheese, which should be tossed out or returned to the store where it was purchased.

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick.
