Dana Ollen has filed a notice of civil claim against health food store Body Energy Club and Advantage Health Matters, the company which produces Organic Traditions Sprouted Chia Seeds.

Organic Traditions is one of two dozen chia products listed on Canada's Public Health Agency website in a recall linked to 59 cases of salmonella in four provinces, 13 of which have been in B.C..

In her claim, Ollen says she got sick repeatedly during the months it took her to consume a 227 gram package of the chia seeds.

Ollen says Body Energy Club and Advantage Health Matters failed to warn the public about safety concerns.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.
